BEAUTIFUL 19th Century Antique French Oak BRETON Brittany Cabinet, Bonnetiere,  Armoire, or Wardrobe with Interior Shelf

Charming carved oak cabinet or "bonnetiere"~~highly requested classic French Breton design~~Breton (sometimes known as Brittany) furniture originated in late 19th century France in a region to the west of Normandy, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean.  Because of the proximity to the ocean, many people of the era were fishermen.  The nautical and maritime themes are often characterized in Breton furniture with the portrayal of ship wheels and decorative spindle accents. 


Bonnetieres were originally used for storage of ladies' hats and bonnets~~wonderful slender design makes this a versatile space-saving piece


Perfect for use for storing blankets or linens or in a bath for towels and toiletries~~use in an office or study for storage of files or books~~the possibilities are endless!


Beautifully carved cabinet with spindles and figural carvings on door~~carved (removable) crown~~carved sides and lower skirt
