WONDERFUL Antique French Gothic Oak Blanket Box, Coffer, Trunk, Storage Chest or Bench~~c. 1920s

These chests were originally used as strongboxes for holding money, jewelry and other valuables.  The perfect size for a foyer, entry hall or mudroom bench, or as a coffee table.  Excellent example of the hand carved craftsmanship of the era~~use it for storage at the foot of a bed!   

FULL of CHARACTER~~Carved figural soldier or knight in armor with Gothic tracery elements, linen fold sides and iron strap hinges

24" tall x 51.25" wide x 19" deep

Storage area is 18" deep 

Sturdy and stable with nice oak patina

Direct from France~~c. 1920s
